How to install *.deb Files on a Jailbroken iPhone or iPod Touch

First of all there are a few different ways you can install a *.deb you can either use iFile, from Cydia (by far the easiest way) and open the deb file in it.

You can also do the following…

Another easy way is to add it to the AutoInstall Folder in Cydia and reboot the iDevice. (thanks iClarified)

To gain access to your Jailbroken iPhone filesystem, you can either use the USB Method via program like iFunBox or you can wirelessly access it using OpenSSH alongside WinSCP.

The last method you can use is outlined here. (Thanks brighthub)

You basically install OpenSSH from Cydia, get the IP address of the Device, enter your root password, copy the deb file to the location like /var/root/ and issue a few commands. A video on how to do this is provided thanks to hackstor blog.

That is it.

Thanks for reading.
